Cercle Finishing
Along with gilding, it is one of the most common decorative techniques applied to high-end wheels.
The operation consists of using a very special type of abrasive paper to create concentric circles on the surfaces of the wheels.
This decoration produces striking reflections under light, especially during visual inspection of a watch movement.
The resulting effect is reminiscent of the nuclear symbol.
Moulding
Moulding is a decorative finish applied to the wheel.
It consists of machining a shaped circular recess on the surface of the wheel.
This operation is carried out using a diamond tool
Under light, it creates reflections due to the mirror-polished finish of the copper-based material.
Sunburst Finishing and Snailing
Sunburst finishing is a decorative technique made of radial lines extending from the center of the surface toward the edges.
It is referred to as snailing when the lines are no longer straight but curved.
Both decorations bring light and a sense of dynamism to the part.
